Rio Salado is very proud to support the next generation and our Junior Division provides many opportunities for young adults to learn, compete and have fun in a safe, controlled environment. The Junior Division provides small group gun safety and marksmanship training for rifle, firearms safety, and competitive shooting.
Smallbore Range - This range features lighting for night shooting and a covered concrete shooting pad with wooden shooting tables. This is primarily a rifle range, although pistols may be fired on this range with some restrictions. Target holders are located at 50 feet, 25 yards, 50 yards, 50 meters and 100 yards.
Eye protection may be purchased at the public range for a nominal amount.Minors under 6 years old are not permitted on the Public or Sporting Clays ranges. All Non-Members and minors must sign our Liability Waiver before shooting any event or practice.
The Rio Salado Sportsman's Club manages one of the most widely used ranges in Arizona. Pre-registration is required for these classes due to the number of firearms available and interactive coaching that shooters will receive.

RSSC Junior Smallbore Division is open to both new and experienced shooters. Children learn gun and range safety with classes and live firing shooting courses with a Smallbore bolt action rifle in the 4-position course of fire. The NRA qualification program is designed to develop skills between the ages 10 through 20 in the the prone, kneeling, sitting and standing positions; first introduced at outdoors at 50 feet.
